![]() History Lanett was
originally the Town of Bluffton,
incorporated
on
December 7, 1865, when it received its charter from the
Alabama
Legislature. A new charter was sought from the state
twenty-eight
years later. Bluffton had grown and citizens of the town
deemed
fit to change it's name. The City of Lanett was founded on
February 1, 1895 when a charter for the newly named City of Lanett was
approved. Lanett was named after two local textile mill
developers, Lafayette Lanier
and Theodore

Grade VI Pay $11.09-$16.84. Job description available upon request. Pay depending upon training, experience and education. Preferred Qualifications: Candidates who are certified as a Police Officer with the State of Alabama. Minimum Requirements: High School education or its equivalent as recognized by the Alabama Department of Education (GED), score 45 per section, Total 225. Minimum age limit for all police officers is 21 years of age. Must be a United States citizen. Must have a valid drivers license and good driving history. Must pass an oral interview, physical agility, background investigation, polygraph examination, drug screen, psychological and physical examination. The cover shows a view of the 16th hole and fairways from available scenic home lots at the Riverside Country Club Golf Course in Lanett, AL. The new 9 holes of the golf course wind serenely through Riverside Estates, a new planned golf community, located near the existing Riverside Country Club. The development will feature exquisite single-family homes, which reflect the energy and attraction of the new and growing residential market in the area. The new golf community is designed by Kenny Ezell, a former All- American at Furman University and a member of the PGA Tour. To date, Ezell has designed 80 courses. One of his better-known works is The Villages in central Florida. The City of Lanett will supply all the water, sewage and gas to Riverside Estates and part of the electricity, which will include underground utilities.
