CITY OF LANETT

REGULAR SCHEDULED COUNCIL MEETING

March 5, 2007

The City Council of the City of Lanett, Alabama, met in regular session on Monday, March 5, 2007, in the Council Chambers of the Lanett Municipal Complex at 6:00 P.M. The roll was taken and the following were found to be present: Councilmember Malone, Councilmember Heard Councilmember Duskin, and Councilmember McCoy. Councilmember Yarbrough was absent. Mayor Oscar Crawley was present and presided over the meeting.

Reverend Gary Armes said the invocation and led the pledge of allegiance.

Councilmember McCoy made the motion to amend the prepared agenda and Mayor Crawley added Curt Johnson with Fuller Center Project. Councilmember Heard seconded the motion. Motion unanimously carried.

Councilmember Duskin made the motion to adopt the prepared agenda. Councilmember Heard seconded the motion. Motion unanimously carried.

Councilmember McCoy made the motion to dispense with reading and to adopt the minutes of the regular scheduled meeting of February 19, 2007. Councilmember Duskin seconded the motion. Motion unanimously carried.

Curt Johnson with the Chattahoochee Fuller Center Project Incorporated came before the Mayor and Council. Curt Johnson said there would be two houses that would be built in the City of Lanett, one on North 6^th Avenue, that would be for low-income families and would be low-income housing. Curt Johnson said the houses would be financed for twenty (20) years; no interest and payment will be $200.00. Curt Johnson said that there would some more houses built in the future.

Councilmember Malone read “Resolution 03-07-03 Request to Authorize City Building Inspector To Remove Or Cause To Be Removed Dilapidated Structures”. Councilmember Malone made a motion to adopt “Resolution 03-07-03 Request to Authorize City Building Inspector To Remove Or Cause To Be Removed Dilapidated Structures”. The motion seconded by Councilmember McCoy. Motion unanimously carried.

Councilmember Heard read “Resolution 03-07-01 – A Resolution Regarding Jennie J Gunnells”. Councilmember Heard made a motion to adopt “Resolution 03-07-01 – A Resolution Regarding Jennie J Gunnells”. The motion seconded by Councilmember Duskin. Motion unanimously carried.

Councilmember McCoy read “Resolution 03-07-02 – A Resolution Regarding Richard W Ballard”. Councilmember McCoy made a motion to adopt “Resolution 03-07-02 – A Resolution Regarding Richard W Ballard”. Motion died lack of a second.

Councilmember Duskin read “Resolution 03-07-04 Conveyance of Property To The Chattahoochee Fuller Center Project Incorporated”. Councilmember Duskin made a motion to adopt “Resolution 03-07-04 Conveyance of Property To The Chattahoochee Fuller Center Project Incorporated”. The motion seconded by Councilmember Malone. Motion unanimously carried.

Mayor Crawley welcomed Superintendent Looser and Mrs. Looser, Lurlee Jennings, former Councilmember Carl Bullard, and Alfred Lyons.

They’re being no further business to come before this Council, motion duly made, meeting was adjourned at 6:20 P.M.
