CITY OF LANETT

REGULAR SCHEDULED COUNCIL MEETING

          December 03, 2007

 

The City Council of the City of Lanett, Alabama, met in regular session on Monday, December 3, 2007, in the Council Chambers of the Lanett Municipal Complex at 5:30 P.M.  The roll was taken and the following were found to be present: Councilmember Heard, Councilmember McCoy, and Councilmember Duskin.  Councilmember Malone and Councilmember Yarbrough were absent.  Mayor Oscar Crawley was present and presided over the meeting.

 

Reverend Gary Armes said the invocation and led the pledge of allegiance.

 

Councilmember Duskin made the motion to adopt the prepared agenda.  Councilmember Heard seconded the motion.  Motion unanimously carried.

 

Councilmember McCoy made the motion to dispense with reading and to adopt the minutes of the regular scheduled meeting of November 20, 2007.  Councilmember Heard seconded the motion.  Motion unanimously carried.

 

Councilmember Heard made a motion to “Appoint Superintendent Electric/Gas Department” David DeLee.  Councilmember McCoy seconded the motion.  Motion unanimously carried.

 

Councilmember McCoy read “Resolution 12-07-03 – Fuller Center – Waiver of Tap Fees”. Councilmember McCoy made a motion to adopt “Resolution 12-07-03 – Fuller Center – Waiver of Tap Fees”.  Councilmember Duskin seconded the motion.  Motion unanimously carried

 

Councilmember McCoy read 2nd reading of “Ordinance 10-07-02 – Annex Property-Valley Area Properties”.  Councilmember McCoy made a motion to adopt “Ordinance 10-07-02 – Annex Property-Valley Area Properties”.  Councilmember Duskin seconded the motion. Roll call vote as follows:  Councilmember Heard – Yea, Councilmember McCoy – Yea, Councilmember Duskin – Yea and Mayor Crawley – Yea.  Motion unanimously carried.

 

Councilmember McCoy read the 1st reading of “Ordinance 12-07-01 – Annex Property (Cam Lanier)”.  Councilmember McCoy made a motion to suspend the rules and adopt “Ordinance 12-07-01 – Annex Property (Cam Lanier)”.  Councilmember Duskin seconded the motion.  Roll call vote as follows to suspend the rules and adopt “Ordinance 12-07-01  – Annex Property (Cam    Lanier)”:  Councilmember Heard – Yea, Councilmember McCoy – Yea, Councilmember Duskin – Yea and Mayor Crawley – Yea.  Motion unanimously carried.

 

Councilmember McCoy made a motion to adopt “Ordinance 12-07-01 – Annex Property (Cam Lanier)”.  Councilmember Duskin seconded the motion.  Roll call vote as follows:  Councilmember Heard – Yea, Councilmember McCoy – Yea, Councilmember Duskin – Yea and Mayor Crawley – Yea.  Motion unanimously carried.

 

Councilmember Duskin read “Resolution 12-07-01 Consenting Formation of a Public Corporation As An Improvement District”.  Councilmember Duskin made a motion to adopt “Resolution 12-07-01 Consenting Formation of a Public Corporation As An Improvement District”.  Councilmember McCoy seconded the motion.  Motion unanimously carried.

 

Councilmember Duskin read “Resolution 12-07-02- Certain Matters Related to The Issuance of Cooperative District/The Landing at The Venue”.  Councilmember Duskin made a motion to adopt “Resolution 12-07-02- Certain Matters Related to The Issuance of Cooperative District/The Landing at The Venue”.  Councilmember Heard seconded the motion.  Motion unanimously carried.

 

Mayor Crawley invited everyone at the Lanett City council meeting to the “Christmas Tee Lighting” downtown Lanett.
