Transportation

Lanett is accessible via road, rail or air.  Lanett lies conveniently along Interstate I-85 providing direct north-south access to Atlanta or Montgomery. Other arteries include Hwy. 80, US 280 and US 431, providing ease in travel and transport of goods.  Trucking services are provided by McLendon Trucking, West Point Home Transportation Center, Estes Express Lines and Fitch Brothers Transportation.  Lanett is proud to provide the Lanett Municipal Airport which is undergoing over one million dollars in upgrades to its 3,150-ft lighted general aviation runway and facilities.  It lies adjacent to I-85 and the Huguley Industrial Parks and offers point of sales aircraft fuel and leases t-hangers for the general aviation enthusiast.  Commercial Air transportation is also available 71 miles northeast at Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, 40 miles southeast at Columbus Regional Airport, 20 miles south at Auburn-Opelika Airport and 23 miles north at LaGrange Callaway Airport. Rail service is provided by CSX and Abernathy Railroads and port facilities are available within 45 miles in Phenix City, Alabama.  Other ports are located in Mobile, AL and Savannah, GA.
