The City of Lanett Parks and Recreation Department is here to provide unique and advanced programs for our citizens and communities.

The City of Lanett provides activities such basketball, football, track, exercising, swimming and much more.

It is the mission of the Lanett Parks and Recreation department to create recreational opportunities for growth and enhancement by developing diverse services and programs that promote citizen involvement and a strong sense of community while striving to increase the social, cultural and physical well-being of its residents and visitors.

We strive to provide clean and safe park and recreational facilities, efficient services to the City of Lanett residents regardless of income, background and ability, effective planning for the future needs of Lanett residents, improvements to existing facilities while seeking opportunities for future development, and to create a partnership with the Lanett community to improve the quality of life for all citizens.

Parks and Recreation facilities located in the City of Lanett include:

  • The LB Sykes Community Center is located at 1302 Cherry Drive, Lanett, Al 36863.
  • A newly renovated Gymnasium with basketball court, shuffle board court and game room.
  • A newly renovated Event Center with an outdoor pavilion available to citizens for rental.
  • Outdoor swimming facilities.
  • Senior Center providing meals, games and activities for senior citizens.
  • Veterans park with pavers in remembrance of military loved ones.
  • Lanier Historical Society meeting building.
